The Best Tools, Beekeeping Equipment and Season for Honey Yields

Honey farming is a pathway to get full nutritional honey yield. Although you take care of the honeybees and nurture them in the best possible way, but also keep in mind the change in the seasons and the possible tricks through which you can maximize your honey production.

Bee farming is a complicated job as you have to take care of several possibilities. Honeybees have proved to be very fragile creatures that are very much vulnerable to weather changes and other geographical possibilities.

While honey farming, have a deep study of your regional climate and refute the apprehensions that can cause some harm to your bee buzz.

Tricks

There are several tricks that you can try if you intend to become a beekeeper. Beekeepers usually know the seasons and best harvesting climates.

If you intend to be the one, follow these instructions to make your honey yield beneficial and meeting your expectations. The first in-demand tool to harvest honey is the beekeepers’ suite.

Your protective dress should be safe enough to protect you from the stings of the guard bees. One major fact that should be kept in mind while harvesting honey yield is the protection of hands.

The hand gloves of your protective suit should be made sting resistant. This fact is a pre-requisite for the whole costume but the hands are exceptional as you have to perform the whole task with your hands Second in-demand tool is the smoker with fuel and a lighter. Fuel could be the branches, grass, leaves or the objects that will produce some smoke to astray the bees from the hive and make you able to extract honey.

Honey Harvesting

Third thing you need while honey harvesting is the container in which you will put and carry honey frames safely and soundly. The container should be able to port the honey frames.

Keep the substitutive frames with you that will be placed at the place from where you have dislodged the frames filled with honey. You can acquire your perfect yield in the second year of the lodging of the honeybees as they need a whole year for the settlement of their hive and retain their population.

A populous beehive is a perfect source of ripened honey yields. Generally, beekeepers harvest their honey at the end of the nectar supply when the comb cells are filled with honey.

This situation and circumstances can vary with regional conditions. If you are a startup, a small amount of honey at the late end of summer is a good luck token for you. It relates to the possibility that you will get a full ripened yield of honey next year if the circulation of the procedure is done well.

The best time to remove the honey from a beehive is when it is 80% of the honey cells are filled with it. If you are patient enough, you can leave it on the hive to fill or till the last flow of nectar is over too. Extract honey from the open cells if it is cured.

To check whether it is cured or not turns the shield to the ground and give a jerk. Take care of the cells with open endings that are not closed with wax, if the syrup leaks it isn’t cured. It’s not honey in fact, it’s the nectar stored in cells. If you will try to save it, it will fragment or spoil as the water condensation is very high in this syrup that spoils it soon.

Wait for the honey ripening is good but if you make it too long, things could go against you. As the late nectar flow ends, early winter comes in and at this stage bees start to consume the honey they have made or start to shift it to the lowest open hive cells to store it.

In both conditions, you can lose the harvest that was all yours. The second thing that could happen is, your prolonged wait for harvesting honey sets the winter in. The cold atmosphere isn’t ideal for harvesting honey as it thickens it and it is very hard for the beekeepers to extract it from the cells.

In winter, the honey sticks to the cells and sometimes even granulates. So, be wise and choose the best possible time to harvest your honey yield. The professional beekeepers harvest it in late summers when the cells are filled with honey and the flow is easy due to the humid atmosphere.

The timely harvesting is a crucial figure in beekeeping but the essential thing is the health of your beehive, production of the queen and the atmosphere in which the bees are living and water and food vicinities.

The harvesting is the subordinate factor, firstly, you have to make your honey queens able enough to produce honey and that all depends on the living conditions and food supplies around the beehive.

If the bees will spend most of their time in the nectar hunt, the production of honey will be very less. So, locate your honey hive amidst the trees to get a full ripened honey yield.
